Who is in charge of stopping the oil leak and the cleanup in the Gulf of Mexico — BP or the Obama administration?

In a rare show of bi-partisan disgust, Gov. Bobby Jindal has said what we all knew three weeks ago.  We don't need (and will not wait on) Corp of Engineer permissiion to protect our coastal interests.  We will begin creating a coastal barricade with or without Federal approval!

Obama has nominated current Solicitor General, Elena Kagan, former Harvard Law School dean, to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by Justice Stevens.  Court watchers suggest Obama's primary reason for choosing Kagan is the belief that she's has the intellectual gravitas to serve as a counterweight to Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Scalia. Kagan is unique since she has never served as a judge, and since she's only 50 Kagan expected to serve for many years.

Our Founding Fathers drafted the Constitution to create a federal government that would carry out functions our state governments could not. Paramount among them: 1) defending the country against foreign enemies, 2) regulating commerce with foreign nations, 3) regulating commerce among the states and 4) regulating immigration.

God Is In The Rain!

I went through a very challenging time in my life this last year. It started a couple of years ago with some frustration over some circumstances in my life. As those continued, the discouragement grew and it really had a negative affect on way I was approaching other important responsibilities. The ongoing disappointment began to consume my whole thought process, and then when I finally felt I had overcome that, the final and unexpected blow hit me.

You've waited weeks, months or possibly over a year for your spouse to return from a mission or deployment. You've fantasized day and night about the picture-perfect reunion – passionately running into your spouse's open arms with reckless abandon.

But the longer your spouse has been deployed, and the more danger he's faced, the more likely you both have changed. Even if the reunion goes as planned, challenges lie ahead.

Obamacare: Impact on the Family

Families have good reason to be concerned about how the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) of 2010 will affect them. While the law will deliver a health insurance entitlement to millions of individuals and families, many of its provisions weaken family choice of coverage, undermine parental participation in minor children’s health care decisions, penalize the decision to marry, and undercut family values in health care.

“Under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions,” Or so President Barack Obama promised to the American people in his health care address before a Joint Session of Congress on September 9th. But then why did the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops send a letter to Congress on October 8th writing: “No one should be required to pay for or participate in abortion.
