Louisiana Family Forum Action proudly celebrates the Seventeen State Representatives and five State Senators who had a 100 percent voting record during the 2009 Louisiana Legislative Session. 

These twenty three legislators will receive the 2009 “Outstanding Family Advocate” Award from Louisiana Family Forum in recognition of their commendable pro-family voting records during the 2009 Legislative Session. The awards will be presented at the Legislative Awards Banquet on Sept. 17th in Baton Rouge at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. 

Note: No townhall meetings have been scheduled by Rep. Charlie Melancon.

(Baton Rouge) LFF Action has released a nonpartisan Voter Guide for the August 29th, 2009 Special Election to fill the vacant state senate seat in district 20.  Candidates Norby Chabert (D-Houma) and Brent Callais (R-Cut Off) each responded to detailed questionnaires.  The Voter Guide was developed from the candidates' answers.

Covenant Marriage Resources Updated!

Baton Rouge - Louisiana Family Forum Action has updated its Covenant Marriage information and has made several resources available.

From the National Right to Life:

The Associated Press claims that "Obama recently told CBS that the nation should continue a tradition of not financing abortions as part of government-funded health care.'"  If Obama had actually said that, it would have been a very newsworthy statement indeed.  But AP has grossly distorted what Obama actually said.
 

It's the final stretch of the Louisiana legislative session and your LFF Action Staff is glad to see it come!  So-called "fiscal only" sessions are fast and hard with only sixty days to complete legislation from start to finish.  And with each lawmaker allowed to offer five non-fiscal bills, the session just gets that much tighter.  The session must end by Thursday, June 25th, so even though everyone would rather watch LSU in the College World Series,
