Louisiana Family Forum (LFF) is once again being drafted to assist in Louisiana’s major disaster relief effort.

Marshaling resources for affected families is not a new initiative for LFF, but right now it does present a unique opportunity! LFF’s Board of Directors has asked that we continue the mission; “to provide a voice for traditional families in Louisiana.”

That voice is needed most on behalf of Louisiana’s flood-saturated population – nearly 100,000 families by best estimates. One small example of LFF’s operating principle of “loaned influence and servant leadership” is the church network that LFF president, Gene Mills, provides oversight to. To date, this team has prepared and served 85,000 hot meals, issued 47,500 relief packages, logged 45,000 volunteer hours and deployed 1000 Cajun Navy boat rides! Those efforts only took one week to accomplish, primarily through the local and national volunteer teams of one church with multiple locations! Imagine if many capable churches began to work together as was the case during Katrina!

LFF has been asked once again to loan its leadership and influence to this response. In order to keep LFF’s voice for families healthy, we are asking those of you who feel compelled, to invest in our relief plan. Hence we are creating the LFF Compassion Fund to ease the burden placed on our team and its limited resources.

Please consider your pledge to LFF an investment in our LFF Compassion Fund.
